Free London CPD - As part of the Construction CPD Road Seminar Tour 2013 CPSA will be holding its CPD certified seminar "Surface Water Mangement Using Proprietary Precast Concrete SuDS Systems " at Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, off Russel Square - London, WC1H 0DG. on 21st November. The seminar provides an understanding of the legal framework driving changes in the design and construction of surface water management systems and the implementation of SuDS. CPSA has produced a demonstration video showing the correct method and equipment to use when air testing a concrete pipeline. The 5 minutes video is available at Youtube.

The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) invited engineers to a live side-by-side instalation of concrete and plastic pipes. The video demonstrates the main time differences between both pipe systems based on standard USA Best Practice.The video can be viewed from CPSA website here.

CPSA has a certified CPD presentation on the topical issue of surface water management.Under the Flood and Water Management Act, responsibility for the management of surface water run-off in England is epxected to change in April 2014 with the introduction of statutory standards and guidance on the implementation of SuDS. This will have huge implications on the industry.The free CPSA seminar provides background and introduction to the legislation. It then outlines approrpiate appropriate solutions using a range of alternative SuDS components and systems. The new CPD UK and CIWEM certified seminar will be available from August 2013. Hot on the heels of successful launch of the Concrete Pipe Lifter, which has gained numerous plaudits including WIAA 2012 Health & Safety Initiative Award, CPSA decided to give something back at the 2013 Awards and agreed to sponsor the Most Innovative Use of Existing Technology category.Inventer Drive Systems and Anglian Water Services stepped up to collect their Award at the gala dinner and awards ceremony which took place on 21 March at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
